We’ll keep you cool in Downtown Elkton celebrating the joys of Summer Fun with First Friday, August 2nd ‘Corn Fest!’ That’s right, we’ll be rolling out all things ‘Corny’ this First Friday starting with closing North Street (from the corner of Main to the Municipal Lot Driveway) for a good old fashion Corn Hole Tournament hosted by the Elkton Rotary. The Elkton Rotary will also be selling ice cream to keep everyone cool! Maryland Brewing Company will be on hand with some cold brews and newly re-opened Spork will be featuring Corn Fritters along with a limited special event menu. Market 135 is NOW OPEN!!! Working in partnership with the Cecil County Arts Council Cecil County farms, including Luff Family Farms, Chesapeake Gold Farms, Rumbleway Farm, Stafford Angus, and Milburn Orchards, will provide farm fresh products that can be purchased at the market daily. Local goods will include honey, jams, beef sticks, eggs, cheese, pickled beets and peppers, relish and more! Products may vary from time to time but the farms will continuously restock inventory throughout the season. Additionally, during each “First Friday” in Elkton beginning Friday, June 7, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., farmers will be on-hand to talk about their products with samples at CCAC’s Annual Members Meeting/Opening Reception.

The First Friday Event, August 2, 2019 at The Palette & The Page gallery will present the intricately carved ceramic work of Ki Crittenden and the captivating mixed-media paintings of Gina Dell in an exhibit called “Approachable Complexity”.
The reception is from 5pm-8pm and will have live music by guitarist, John Palombo during the Opening, author Michele Dietz Chynoweth will be signing her newest book, and Allie Charles of Cecil County Public Library (CCPL) with be visiting with her sidekick Kim Anguish.
